Shortly about me

·         Iwas born in 1978, in Kaunas, Lithuania. In 2002 I obtained my Master's of Science in Informatics degree at Kaunas University of Technology,Faculty of Informatics. In summer 2003 I finished the Doctoral School in Computer and Communication Sciences, EPFL, Switzerland. I joined the Distributed Information Systems Lab (LSIR) at EPFLin December 2003 as a research assistant. In 2005 I enrolled to the PhD studies, supervised by prof. Karl Aberer.  From January to April 2008 I did an internship at IBM Haifa Research labs under the supervision of dr. Gregory Chockler. I got my PhD from EPFL in March 2009. Currently I'm a post-doc researcher in LSIR.

I enjoy spending my free time outdoors, which is especially rewarding here in Switzerland. I had many fantastic moments while hiking in the Alps accompanied by my wonderful friends.

·         My research interests include:

o    P2P overlay topologies and their maintenance, exploiting Small-World phenomena in structured P2P, heterogeneity and complexity in P2P;

·         Projects:

o    P-Grid - P-Grid is a self-organizing information system (peer-to-peer access structure) based on distributed hash table with a search tree abstraction.

o    Evergrow - Ever-growing global scale-free networks, their provisioning, repair and unique functions

A European Integrated Project in the FET program to invent methods and systems, and build infrastructure for measurement, mock-ups and analysis of network traffic, topology and logical structure.

Mission of the subproject of Evergrow that I'm involved:

§  Scalable decentralized self-healing services which investigates fundamentals of P2P architectures.
